The ‘Tamil-Super-Star’-Rajinikanth/Super-Star-Rajini has just completed his latest  movie- ‘Kochadaiyaan’,

which is yet to be released on 23rd May 2014, postponed from the originally planned date 9th May 2014,
both in Tamil and Telugu (as VikramaSimha).
Rajini has started working on his next Tamil movie-‘Lingaa’, named after his second grand-son (Son of Aishwarya and Dhanush)

Rajinikanth so far, has been reserved in his personal matters.

For example, on his birthdays he would not appear in public and go to some remote and private place informing his fans in advance and requesting them not to try to meet or contact him to wish him.

By his intuition or advised by his close family members/relatives and friends, Rajini recently felt that ‘Twitter’ is a social media platform,  which abuzz with all the news and the trends that happen across the globe.

So, Rajini has decided to join ‘Twitter’ to connect with his fans and hear what they would have to say and to share his thoughts, excluding on ‘Politics’ with them.

‘Super-Star-Rajini’ has joined ‘Twitter on 5th May 2014.
The Social Corridor ‘Fluence’, a celebrity digital network, will manage ‘Super-Star’-Rajini’s Digital Interests, to further create and leverage the actor's social presence.

Rajinikanth’s first tweet was:

“Salutation to the Lord. Vaṇakkam aṉaivarukkum !!(Respect full Wishes to all) A big thank you to all my fans. Excited on this digital journey.”
Rajni’s further tweets so far are mostly -

"Thank you for being a part of the fan family. Here is an exclusive Kochadaiiyaan poster for you, with a link attached.”

Perhaps, the further tweets are auto-tweets with the same message and link attached, which would have been deleted, by now.

Obviously, the above tweet with 'Kochadaiyaan' poster is only a 'marketing' effort for the movie-'Kochadaiyaan' to be released shortly.

Super-Star’s fans and others can follow the Rajni’s ‘Twitter’ account by simply dialling, or giving a missed call at 080 6700 6666 to access Rajni’s tweets.

Rajanikanth had amassed a record number of followers within a few minutes of his joining
 ‘Twitter, @superstarrajini’ .

On the first day of Rajini’s joining ‘Twitter’, the number of his follower became more than 2.1 Lakhs, which is the fastest among all the Indian Celebrities and among the ‘Top 10-Global Celebrities'

Rajini got 38,000 followers on the first day and has become the only Indian to have over 30000 followers, after ‘Bharat Ratna’-Sachin Tendulkar

Rajini’s  ‘Twitter’- handle- @superstarrajini has been mentioned 1,200 times and his name has been mentioned over 20,000 times since he joined Twitter.

Rajini’s Twitter-Debut Record of the number of followers within the shortest time  has tumbled all prior ‘Twitter’ records set by leading Indian celebrities including the following Bollywood Actors, Actresses and Sportsmen:
  • Amitabh Bachchan,
  • Shah Rukh Khan,
  • Salman Khan,
  • Aamir Khan
  • Deepika Padukone
  • Priyanka Chopra- Femina Miss India-2000 and Miss World Continental Queen of Beauty-2000-Turned Actress and Singer
  • Sachin Tendulkar.

Based on the astonishing response to Rajini’s Twitter account by his fans, it is expected that Rajni would cross 10 Lakhs of followers within a week.

Every person who follows ‘Rajini’ on ‘Twitter’ in the first week will receive a ‘Welcome Graph’ and a personalized ‘Welcome Picture’ from him to make the ‘Super-Star-Rajinikanth’s entry into ‘Twitter’ more exciting.

Rajini’s entry into ‘Twitter’ has been reflected in ‘Facebook’-account of 'fans of super star rajinikanth"  and the top headline in ‘facebook’ has been -‘Rajnikanth joins Twitter’

‘Twitter’ has verified the account of ‘Super-Star-Rajini’. The users of ‘Twitter’ on the second day of Rajini’s joinig ‘Twitter’ had got a display of a banner ad asking them to ‘welcome Super Star Rajni’ into ‘Twitter’, as a promotional measure to increase Rajini’s ‘Twitter’ -Followers.

The following data are to have a Comparison ‘Twitter Followers’ of Rajini and Other Indian and Global Celebrities:

  • The Big ‘B’ of Bollywood- Amitabh Bachchan has 86 lakh followers in four years.
  • Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, who joined Twitter in 2010, has over 70 lakh followers
  • In the year 2011, Hollywood actor Charlie Sheen reached a 10 Lakhs of followers on Twitter within just 25 hours, according to Guinness World Records.

We will have to wait and see how active the ‘Super-Star’-Rajini would be the social media-‘Twitter’.

Mother:  Ms.Singaramma

Education:  Central College, Bangalore / Presidency College, Madras

Date of Death: 25th December 1972 at Chennai

Rajaji In Politics:
After education Rajaji had practiced as a lawyer and was a successful advocate and earned a lot of money and fame.

Then, Rajaji was interested in public service and entered into the Indian Political field.

Rajaji had been a devoted member and a strong leader of the Indian National Congress / INC and he was close to Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and Sardar Vallabhai Patel.

Rajaji had been along with the top leadership of the INC in many important and crucial  matters and suggested solutions to the problems faced by the high command of the INC..

Rajaji had been in the Government of the INC in various high profile capacities, including Governor, Union Cabinet Minister and Premier of Madras Province and Chief Minister of the State of Madras.

However, Rajaji was having  differences of opinions with the leaders of the Indian National Congress / INC, including Mahatma Gandhi.

Rajaji was against Mahatma Gandhi's / INC's 'Quit India' Movement and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's army activities in the Indian Freedom Struggle.

Basically, Rajaji differed from them in the concept / approach of  'getting'  freedom / independence from the 'British Rule' and the modes of freedom struggle.

However, Rajaj had  been in the INC and he was given respect and importance by the party and he had been given key posts in the Government of INC.

In the year 1959, Rajaji resigned from INC and formed his own political party by name  ‘The Swatantara Party’ and his party contested against the INC in the General Elections of 1962, 1967 and 1972.

Rajaji was instrumental in forming an “United Anti-Congress Front” in the Madras State under the leadership of ‘Perarignar’ C.N.Annadurai,the founder leader of the political party ‘Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam’ / DMK.

The Madras/Tamil Nadu State's Local Party-DMK came to power in the State of Madras in the 1967 elections with a large majority and displaced the INC from the Ruling Chair of the State of Madras / Tamilnadu.

The DMK could become the ruling party of the State of Madras due to many factors, such as the people's wish to have an alternative to the Congress Rule, inspired by the thought provoking speeches of 'Perarignar- C.N.Annadurai, and the support of the popular Tamil Silver Screen Hero- M.G.Ramachadran / MGR and by the support of Rajaji and his supporters.

After 1967 the Indian National Congress / INC could not become the ruling party in the State of Madras / Tamilnadu.

Only, the local  Dravidian Political Parties, especially, the DMK of C.N.Annadurai & M.Karunanidhi and the All India Anna Dravina Munnetra Kazhagam /AIAMDK of MGR & Ms. J.Jayalalithahave been dominating in the state's politics and the 'Vote Banks'..
Position Held By Rajaji in Indian Government:

Chakravarthi Rajagopalachari/Rajaji  had held the following Posts in the Government of India
(Right From the President of Municipality To The Governor General of India:
  • President of the Salem Municipality
  • The First Premier of Madras Presidency From 14th July 1939 To 09th October 1939
  • Governor of West Bengal  From 15th August 1947 To 1948
  • Last Governor General  of India, From 21st June 1948 To 26th January 1950, succeeding the late British Governor General of India-Lord Mountbatten, during his visit to his home country Britain. (Rajaji is the first, last and the only Indian who had been the 'Governor General of India', as the post itself was removed after India became  'Republic'. )
  • Indian Union Minister of Home Affairs From 26th December 1950 To 25th October 1951
Award/Honour  to Rajaji:

Rajaji has been respected by all the politicians of India and he  has been considered as one of the 'rarest of rare politicians' / leaders  in the true sense even in those days, despite his gross differences of opinions with the INC leaders and  many other Indian political leaders.

The name of Rajaji has been given to many roads in different parts of India and many parks and public places have been named after 'Rajaji'.

The highest civilian award of the Union Government of India  the “Bharat Ratna” was conferred on Rajaji along with Dr.S.Radhakrishnan and Sir C.V.Raman in the year 1954,  when the award was first instituted and awarded.
.
On 26th January 1955, the Republic Day of India, Rajaji received the ‘Bharat Ratna’ Award from the first President of India Babu Rajendra Prasad.
Rajaji has been Praised and /or Criticized  for many of his bold and drastic steps taken and changes made by him in the State of Madras as detailed below:
In March 1938,  Rajaji  introduced the “Agricultural Debt Relief Act” to ease the burden of debt on the province's peasant population.

Rajaji  issued the “Temple Entry Authorization and Indemnity Act 1939”, under which restrictions were removed on Dalits and Shanars entering Hindu temples.
Subsequently, in the year 1939,   the Madurai Meenakshi Temple  was opened to the people of all castes including Dalits and Shanars.
Rajaji introduce “Liquor Prohibition” and banned the sale and use of ‘Alcohol’ in the province of Madras, causing a heavy loss to the Government.

Rajaji introduced ‘Sales Tax’ to compensate the loss incurred by the Government due to ‘prohibition of alcohol’.in the State of Madras.

As a result of Rajaji’s closure of liquor shops in the State of Madras, the revenue  to the government declined and hundreds of government primary schools were closed down.

Rajaji felt that  because of the full day long school education system, the students who were from families having own skilled business / trade.could not learn the skills of the  trade of their parents.

So in the year 1953, he introduce a new Primary Education System known as the "Modified System of Elementarry Education", with reduced syllabi and with only 3 hours of classes per day to enable the students to learn their family trade / business /vocation at home,  in the remaining time of the day.
However, the revised primary education scheme of Rajaji was criticized as ”Kula Kalvi”/ ”Caste-based Education” or “Hereditary  Education” by the opposition parties, especially by the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam of C.N.Annaduarai.
Rajaji introduced  ‘Compulsory Hindi’ in Indian Educational Institutions and ‘Anti Hindi’ violent protests were kindled and consecutively many protestors were arrested and 2 protestors, ‘Thalamauthu Nadar ‘and ‘Nadarasan ‘were killed in the violence.
When Rajaji had been the Chief Minister of the undivided ‘Madras State’ demands for a separate state for Telugu speaking people of the Madras state were intensified.

Rajaji as the Chief Minister of Madras along with Jawaharlal Nehru had been firm in not allowing linguistic segregation of the states of India .

However, an Indian Independence Activist and a Social Worker of Madras Potti Sriramulu died on 15th December 1952, in the prolonged and continuous fasting/hunger strike in support of the demand for a separate state for Telugu speaking people of the Madras state
Subsequently, on 01st October 1953, on the eve of the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi,  (02nd October ) the fore-runner of ‘Satyagraha’/Fasting-Hunger Strike for demand for independent India,‘Andhra State’  was  created with the  Telugu-speaking districts of Madras, Kurnool as the capital of the Andhra State.

Rajaji  did not allow the demands  for having the Madras City in the new Andhra State.

Also,  Rajaji was firm in not allowing the new 'Andhra State' to have Madras as the temporary capital of the new Andhra State / Common capital  of both the new Andhra State and the remaining Madras state)

The Following are some of the Works in the Field of Literature of Rajaji:
  • Rajaji formed ‘Tamil Scientific Terms Society’  a society for coining new Tamil words in the various branches of Science, namely, Botony, Chemistry, Physics, Astronomy and  Mathematics in  the year 1916
  • Rajaji published his daily diary notes from 21st December 1921 to 20th March 1922 the period of his imprisonment by the British Government in the form of a book named  “Siraiyil Thavam”/’ Mediatation in Jail’ in English in the year 1922.

“What is wanted to save parliamentary democracy is an opposition that will operate not privately and behind the closed doors of the party meeting, but openly and periodically through the electorate.”-

Narendra Modi's New Scheme For Eradicating 'Financial Untouchability' in India

$

Narendra Modi’s NDA Government has launched a new scheme of opening bank accounts to the people of India, aiming at eradicating ‘financial touchability’ prevailing in the country even after 68 years of independence of India.

While the ‘Father of the Nation'-Mahatma Gandhi struggled  to remove 'Social Untouchability' in India, Narendra Modi wishes to get rid of  'Financial Untouchability' in India.

The scheme strongly believes that every person in India should be connected to the financial system by opening bank account to every Indian, who is not having any bank account till now, as the first step towards joining them in the economic mainstream.

The Scheme  will cover 7.5 crores if Indians, by 26th January 2015, the next Republic Day of India, and the account holders would be provided‘zero-balance’ bank account with ‘RuPay Debit Card’, Life Insurance cover of Rs 30,000/- and an accidental insurance cover of Rs 1 lakh. Later the account holders will be provided an overdraft facility of up to Rs 5,000/-.

On 28th August 2014, the inaugural day of the scheme, a record 1.5 crore bank accounts were opened across the country, the largest such exercise on a single day possibly anywhere in the world.
The scheme of Narendra Modi is named as “Pradhan Mantri’s Jan Dhan Yojana”./"PMJDY"

The 'PMJDY' may not/cannot eradicate poverty in India/Financial Untouchability in India,by the next Republic Day of India.

However, you may appreciate the good and small beginning of some noble idea and the scheme will be providing not only banking facilities to the poor Indian, but also, Personal Insurance and Accidental Insurance benefits.

The scheme may add medical benefits/cash free medical treatment also to the poor Indians.

It is notable and appreciable that the scheme is not named after any of the past or living leaders, as is usually done by the Union Government of India and many of the State Governments in India.

Hats off! Narendra Modi!!

IRCTC will send SMS for Confirmation of Wait-Listed Tickets to the Mobiles of Passengers

$

While booking for train tickets in India, the wait-listed passengers have to find out the status of their ‘waiting list’-tickets by:
  • visiting the website of the ‘irctc’ via internet, for bookings done online,
  • visiting the ‘indianrailinfo’ website for pnr status via internet,
  • by contacting ‘irctc’ via the telephone number:’139 and /or by sending SMS with the 10 digits pnr number to the irctc-at ‘139
  • and looking into the chart prepared by the railways displayed in the railway stations and pasted on the coaches
Hereinafter, the passengers need not do any of the above to know the status of their waitlisted train tickets.

The Indian Railways will send the status message/SMS to their mobile phones, as and when the waitlisted tickets get confirmed.
The software for the above ‘SMS’-based service has been developed by the "Centre Fof Railway  Information System"  /CRIS, the technological arm of the Indian Railways.
The process of the ‘SMS’ alert for confirmation of waitlisted tickets had been in a trial stage and test confirmation messages for confirmed waitlisted tickets had been sent by the Indian Railways since last ten days.

In the above such 'Test'-SMS confirmation process, along with the coach and berth numbers of the confirmed 'WL' tickets,  wrong messages  had been sent to some of the passengers that “CHART PREPARED” when actually the chart had not been prepared.  However, again the same confirmation SMS had been repeated as and when the chart was actually prepared.

The preparation of chart is a vital factor for the passengers to decide on cancellation of some of the tickets booked by them. Let us hope that the IRCTC would take care to rectify the above error of 'chart prepared' message, as and when the chart is not prepared.

According to the Indian Railways, the actual ‘SMS’ alert of confirmation of 'Wait Listed Tickets' has commenced w.e.f.03rd March 2014.

The Indian Railways passengers would feel relived from tension and be happy with the Indian Railways' SMS confirmation of Wait Listed Tickets.

The young boy Pattukkottai Kalyanasundaram, with a passion to learn Tamil,  went to Pondicherry and learnt Tamil Language from Bharathidasan.

So, Paavendhar Bharathidasan is the only teacher of Pattukkottai Kalyanasundaram who became ‘Makkal Kavignar’ without formal school education.

Pattukkottai Kalyanasundaram had also worked for some time in the Tamil Magazine-“Kuyil” run by Bharathi Dasan.
Paavendhar Bharathidasan

The young man Pattukkottai Kalyanasundaram  wanted to become an actor and  joined “Sakthi Nataka Sabha” through the  actor Mr.T.S.Durairaj.

After the ‘Sakthi Nataka Sabha’ was dissolved in the year 1953, Pattukkottai Kalyanasundaram had joined ‘Sivaji Nataka Mandram’ in Chennai.

Pattukkottaiyar had been acting in the dramas and also  wrote songs for the dramas.

Also by MGR's popularity, ‘Perarignar’ Annadurai's party  Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam/DMK could come to power in the State of Tamilnadu.

And also,  MGR himself became the Chief Minister of Tamilnadu because of his popularity earned through his movies, especially by the image created in the minds of the people by the songs in his films.

Many of the songs written by Pattukkottai Kalyanasundaram for MGR had been instrumental in the growth  of  MGR's popularity.

To sum up the life story of Makkal Kavignar, we can say, as he himself had once told to the pressmen, Kalyanasundaram, who was born in a farmer's family, had walked on foot, did hard work in various jobs and business activities, traveled by bus and train and after becoming a popular cinema lyricist, started traveling in taxis.

Had the popular kavignar lived still for more years, he would have traveled in  his own cars and flights, in course of time.

Unfortunately, the popular lyricist Makkal Kavignar Pattukkottai Kalyanasundaram passed away all of a sudden just  like a meteor in the sky  when he was raising to the top of fame.
