Narendra Modi was sworn in as the 14th Prime Minister of India on 26th May 2014 at 06 00 pm at the 'open forecourt' of Rashtrapati Bhavan, Newdelhi.

The swearing in ceremony of Narendra Modi was attended by about 4000 persons including the following Indian and Foreign Dignitaries:

The swearing in ceremony of Narendra Modi and a team of ministers started exactly at 06 00 pm with the "National Anthem".

The ceremony ended exactly at 07 30 pm as scheduled, with the 'National Anthem'.



Pranab Mukherjee, the President of India administered and governed the ‘oath of office’ and the ‘oath of Secrecy’ to Narendra Damodhardas Modi/Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister of India. Narendra Modi took the oaths in Hindi and in the name of God

After Narendra Modi was sworn in as the Prime Minister of India, Ministers in his Cabinet ( 23 Cabinet Ministers, 10 Ministers of State with Independent Charge and 12 Ministers of State - a total of 45 Ministers, were sworn in.

The portfolios allocated to the ministers are as given below. 

Narendra Modi will be the Prime Minister  and he will look after the following portfolios:

• Personnel, 
• Public-Grievances, 
• Pensions,
• The Department of Atomic Energy and 
• The Department of Space.

Also, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in charge of the Ministries/Departments not specifically allocated to any of the ministers.
