List of Indian Bollywood Movies Banned in Pakistan

The Following is a List of Indian Bollywood Movies Banned in Pakistan:-

"TERE BIN LADEN":

The  2010 Hindi Movie ‘Tere Bin Laden’, starring Pakistani Pop-Singer-Actor Ali Zafar  as the movie dealt with the controversial issue of Al –Qaeda Chief Osama Bin Laden.

The movie ‘Tere Bin Laden’ was said to contain vulgar and objectionable dialogues, abuses and derogatory remarks and the movie was labelled as ‘Anti-Law Enforcing Agencies of Pakistan’.

The‘Central Board of Film Censors of Pakistan’/CBFCP  has banned the movie-‘Tere Bin Laden’, as watching the movie might lead to riots and attacks by the extremists in Pakistan

"LAHORE": 

Is a 2010 Hindi Sports (Kick Boxing) Movie, based on American Martial Arts ‘Best of the Best, directed by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan, starring debutants Aanaahad and Shraddha Das, along with many  veteran actors.

In the movie ‘Lahore’ in an 'International Kick Boxing Tournament', as the Indian Boxer defeats the Pakistani Boxer,  the Pakistani players agitate in an un sportive manner.

The ‘Central Board of Film Censors of Pakistan’/CBFCP banned the movie ‘Lahore’, as the plot of the movie portrayed the Pakistanis in bad light and because of some scenes and dialogues in the movie were against the Pakistanis.

"DIRTY PICTURE" :

The 2011 Hindi Movie is based on the life of South Indian /Tamil Glamourous Actress Silk Smitha.

The Movie ‘Dirty Picture’ is certified by the ‘Central Board of Film Certification’ in India under ‘A’ / Adults Only Rating.

 In Pakistan, the movie ‘Dirty Pictures, starring Vidya Balan, the ‘Sex Symbol of Bollywood’ was totally banned as it had been termed by the ‘Central Board of Film Censors of Pakistan’/CBFCP  as ‘Bold and Vulgar’.

"KHILADI 786":

The 2012 Hindi movie of ‘Khiladi’ of Bollywood- Akshay Kumar with the title ‘Khiladi 786’ along with the ‘Promo’ of the movie  was completely banned at sight,  by the ‘Central Board of Film Censors of Pakistan’/CBFCP,  immediately after launching of the posters of the movie, by the Pakistan Film Censor Board.

According to the ‘Central Board of Film Censors of Pakistan’/CBFCP, the use of the sacred number of Muslims ‘786’ in a comedy movie acted by a ‘Non-Muslim’ (Sikh) Indian Actor was considered to be hurting their Islamic sentiments.

"EK THA TIGER" :

The 2012 Movie- ‘Ek The Tiger’ starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif  is a movie with a story of altercations between the Intelligence Agencies of India (RAE )and Pakistan (ISI).

According to the ‘Central Board of Film Censors of Pakistan’/CBFCP, the movies with themes on ‘Anti-Terrorism and against Pakistan’s National Institutions and Security Agencies, are against the national interest of Pakistan and they are to be banned by them.

The ‘Central Board of Film Censors of Pakistan’/CBFCP,  had declared the movie ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ as problematic and banned the movie in Pakistan.

"AGENT VINOD" : 

The  2012 movie ‘Agent Vinod’ starring Saif Ali Khan is with a plot establishing Pakistan’s ISI as the ‘Anti-Indian’ element.

Also, the Pakistani High Commands and Spies have been shown in the movie ‘Agen Vinod’,  to be supporting the Talibans in setting off a ‘Nuclear Bomb’ in New Delhi, India.

The movie ‘Agent Vinod’ was banned in Pakistan a few days before the scheduled release of the movie in Pakistan by the  ‘Central Board of Film Censors of Pakistan’/CBFCP.

"BHAAG MILKHA BHAAG":

The 2013 Hindi movie ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ is based on the real story of the Indian Athlete Milkha Singh, who became the ‘Flying Sikh of India’. It is a  good Indian motivational and inspiring Indian  movie of a common man coming up in life by improving upon his talents.

According to the ‘Central Board of Film Censors of Pakistan’/CBFCP, the movie ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ does not portray Pakistan in good light.

Also there is a dialogue in the Movie spoken by Milkha Singh (Farhan Akhtar):“Mujse Nahin Hoga, Main Pakistan Nahin Jaaungaa”, meaning -"I cannot do it; I will not go to Pakistan"

So the movie ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ was banned in Pakistan.

"DAVID" :

‘David’ is a 2013- Indian Hindi Action-Thriller Movie, directed by Bejoy Nambiar, starring Tamil Actor Vikram, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Vinay Virmani, abu, Lara Dutta, Monica Dogra and Isha Sharvani. 

According to the ‘Central Board of Film Censors of Pakistan’/CBFCP, the movie ‘David’:
  • Is against the reality of Pakistan and the Religion of Islam and
  • Has shown the Muslim ‘Muharram Procession’ totally in a wrong way, without respect for the ideologies of the Muslims.
So, the movie-‘David’ was banned in Pakistan by the ‘Central Board of Film Censors of Pakistan’/CBFCP.

It is notable that, the Muslims in India also had expressed their displeasure about the movie and demanded for the removal of the contents objectionable to them from the movie -‘David’,  for the same  reasons quoted by the ‘Central Board of Film Censors of Pakistan’/CBFCP, while banning the movie in Pakistan.

"RAANJHANAA" :


'Raanjhanaa' a 2013- Indian Hindi Romantic Drama Movie, directed by Anand L. Rai, starring Tamil Actor Dhanush,Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol,  is about the one sided love of a Hindu boy with a Muslim Girl is only like  any other  normal love story in Indian Movies, such as ‘Bombay’ etc.

However, the ‘Central Board of Film Censors of Pakistan’/CBFCP banned the movie ‘Raanjhanaa’ in Pakistan, as the Muslim Girl in the movie was shown as falling in love with 2 Hindu boys.
